🏡Towns & Nations
/menu-claim
Campsites
Campsites are temporary claims that last up to 7 days.
Campsites are intended to give new players some protection and get them playing as quickly as possible without having to make a final decision on where they want to create or join a town.
Create a campsite by placing down a campfire and clicking or typing
/accept
.
Towns
Find a good location to start your town using
/map
in-game. New towns must start at least 10 chunks away from the nearest town's closest claim. However, towns can claim as close to 2 chunks away from the next nearest town as long as the two initial requirements are met.Use
/t new [townname]
while standing in the plot you would like to start your new town in. Use/plotborder
or press F3+g to see the plot borders.Use
/t deposit [amount]
to deposit some money into your new town bank. Money in the town bank is used to claim more land and to pay daily upkeep to the server. The town leaders can deposit or withdraw money in the town bank at any time. Use/towny prices
to see all prices/fees.Use
/t claim
while standing in plots bordering your original home plot to expand your territory.Invite friends to your town using
/t add [playername]
. They will accept or deny using/t accept/deny [town_name]
or by clicking in chat.
If you prefer more of a visual approach, you can use most of Towny's features from an in-game GUI by using the command
/tgui
.Towns can claim 25 plots per resident free of any initial charge. Creating or joining a nation will give as many as 300 bonus plots and other nice benefits, such as lower upkeep fees. There is a limit of 100 residents per town.
Daily upkeep starts at $20 per plot and goes down as low as $10 per plot as the nation the town belongs to grows.
Bonus plots can be purchased for $1,000 in-game money using
/t buy bonus
. Bonus plots can also be obtained by joining a nation. If a town fails to pay upkeep, it will go bankrupt. If the town does not add money back into the town bank within 2 weeks, the town will fully fall.
Outposts
Outposts are land claims that are not connected to your original town area.
This is useful to claim things like spawners that you find out in the wild or in other worlds.
Every town can claim up to 1 outpost by default. This can be increased to as many as 6 outposts by joining a nation.
1. Stand where you want to create a new outpost. Use /plotborder
or press F3+g to see the plot borders. Outposts must start at least 10 chunks away from the nearest town but can claim as close as 5 chunks away from the next nearest town.
2. Use /t claim outpost
3. Use /t claim
while standing in bordering plots to expand the outpost claim like you would for your regular town.
4. Use /t outpost [number]
to teleport to your new outpost.
Nations
Nations are teams of up to 10 allied towns.
They offer various benefits/features, such as bonus plot claims, more outposts per town, and lower upkeep fees.
The larger the nation, the bigger its plot/outpost limit per town and the lower its upkeep fees.
Town Without Nation: 1 outpost, $20/plot upkeep, 25 plots per resident.
Level 1 Nation: 1-2 residents, 2 outposts per town, $18/plot upkeep, 100 bonus claims per town.
Level 2 Nation: 3-4 residents, 4 outposts per town, $16/plot upkeep, 150 bonus claims per town.
Level 3 Nation: 5-9 residents, 6 outposts per town, $14/plot upkeep, 200 bonus claims per town.
Level 4 Nation: 10-19 residents, 8 outposts per town, $12/plot upkeep, 250 bonus claims per town.
Level 5 Nation: 20+ residents, 10 outposts per town, $10/plot upkeep, 300 bonus claims per town.
To create a nation, a player must be the mayor of their town and have at least $25,000 in their town bank.
Use
/n new [Nation_Name]
to create a nation.Nations pay a daily upkeep fee of $100 per town. This money is automatically withdrawn from the nation bank each day. Deposit money using
/n deposit [amount]
.

All Towny Commands:

Introduction To Towny Commands
This list breaks each command down by word. Eg: /resident set perm {on/off}.
For resident commands, the add command would auto-match online players, while add+ requires exact spelling to choose offline players.
Just about every subcommand has it's own help menu. Use /resident set, or a similar cutoff, to show all the options for that command ingame. You can also use /resident set ?, you will probably need to use that in the case where a subcommand actually has a function by itself. Example: /town claim, and /town claim ? would show all it's subcommands.
The { } brackets are used to show variables, or what you need to fill in. The elipse ".." (or shortened elipse) is used to show that you can specify multiple things at once (like inviting 10 residents at once).
The {bleh/blah/bluh} is used to show that the input can be multiple words.
An empty bullet represents that the subcommand itself does something and will not show a help menu.
